A 29-year old mother, Kenisha Thomas, was somehow disturbed during a supervised visit by a
social services worker. The mother did not have custody of the child and felt that the state was not doing a good enough job of taking care of her.
“I’m going to kill her.”
When the social services worker told her that the visit was going to be over soon, the mother said:
According to the workers and witnesses, that’s when the mother pulled the kitchen knife from her bag and began to stab the child. The worker screamed and ran out of the room as a male worker threw chairs at Thomas until she stopped stabbing the baby.
Witnesses say that Thomas was overheard saying:
“It is about to be over.”
Unbelievably, the baby survived and is in Johns Hopkins Hospital with stab wounds to the face and neck. The knife was reportedly stuck in the baby’s neck when paramedics arrived.
