Man Kicks Girlfriend In Stomach, Saying She Doesn't Deserve Baby.

A Minnesota man is charged with attempted murder of an unborn child and domestic assault for allegedly stomping on the stomach of his pregnant on-again, off-again girlfriend.

Kenneth Turner has been arrested at least twice for felony-level domestic assault, according to a criminal complaint obtained by The Huffington Post. Fridley Police Lt. Mike Monsrud also told HuffPost that officers from his department have been called at least 13 times in the past two years for domestic-related disturbances involving the couple.

This time, Turner went to his ex-girlfriend's apartment in Fridley around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning and allegedly assaulted her for three hours, kicking, punching, and choking the woman during an argument about their relationship, local CBS affiliate WCCO reported. At one point, Turner allegedly ordered her to lie on her back on the bed and then used both feet to stomp on her stomach, according to criminal charges obtained by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The victim told authorities that she is two months pregnant and, during the attack, Turner said she "did not deserve the baby" and that he was going to kill it, KARE 11 reported.

While the woman experienced vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain, Lt. Monsrud told Huffpost that tests conducted on Monday showed that the fetus is still alive.

Turner's bail has been set at $500,000 and he is forbidden from having contact with the victim. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 14.

Woman Does Whatever She Has To To Safe Her Children.

A mother and victim of severe domestic abuse went to extremes to flee her husband and free her children from his home.

At the end of March, a passerby found Lisa Holden, 27-year-old Texas mother of three, by the side of the County Road 4512 in east Texas with her two young daughters. Holden reportedly drifted in and out of consciousness for two days while the three hid, trying to flag down cars for help, according to CBS News.

Holden's husband, Josh, is accused of beating her with electrical wiring and a baseball bat before taking their 7-year-old to school, the Tyler Paper reported. The woman told investigators that he returned and beat her with jumper cables when his truck wouldn't start and said he would kill her when he returned.

"Her head had been shaved and it looked like she had been scalped," Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office investigator Kristie Holt said. "She had wounds all over her body, from bruises to open wounds pretty much on her arms and legs."

Holden was listed in critical condition for 10 days, suffered two broken legs, and head injuries. According to the Tyler newspaper, Holt also noted that metal pellets were lodged in Holden's legs from a previous incident when her husband shot her with a pellet gun, leaving the shrapnel and open sores behind.

Josh Holden abused his wife for seven years and kept her locked in the house, Holt said. "When we went to execute the warrant, we noticed video cameras in the residence and we're suspecting that's how he monitored the movement," Holt told the Tyler Paper. "He had an application on his iPhone that he could see inside the house."

Holden was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and bodily injury, local broadcaster KLTV reported. He was released after bail was reduced from $750,000 to $100,000.

Woman Does Take "No" For An Answer.

It was an extreme case of sexual frustration.

Inez Nunez, 18, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly punching her boyfriend in the face because he wouldn't have sex with her, NBC Miami reported.

On Tuesday, cops were called to her home in Coral Springs, Fla., for a domestic disturbance between Nunez and her live-in boyfriend. The man said that the two had been arguing, and Nunez socked him because he called her ugly and wouldn't sleep with her, according to WPTV.

The victim's father said he heard the tussle, which allegedly continued as Nunez slapped him while he was on the ground.

Nunez reportedly argued that her boyfriend had also slapped and choked her. Cops deemed her story to be inconsistent, saying in a report that the story changed several times.

Nunez was arrested and jailed on a $2,500 bond.

GOP Don't Even Support Bill To Protect Woman From Abuse.

Protecting women from violence and abuse has been an issue of bipartisan cooperation since President Clinton signed the landmark Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in 1994. It was reauthorized with overwhelming bipartisan support in 2000 and again in 2005. Not this year.

On Feb. 2, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved legislation (S. 1925) reauthorizing VAWA. The bill was sponsored by Chair Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) -- who is not on the committee -- and cosponsored by 34 senators from both parties. Nevertheless, the legislation attracted no GOP support among committee members and passed out of committee on a party-line vote of 10-8. It was, according to Leahy's office, the first time VAWA legislation did not receive bipartisan backing out of committee.
