Heath Howe
A Florida man is accused of using a rope to tie up his 4-year-old daughter so he could play video games.
The young girl told police that she was watching TV on May 17 when her father, Heath Howe, tied her up in the kitchen. She said Howe then began to play "bad guy" video games, according to WTSP.
The girl's mother and a friend found the girl tied up after they returned from a trip to the gym, Fox News reports. The mother's friend untied the child after the mother allegedly did nothing to help her.

Carotta
A Brooklyn mother accused of starving, drugging and beating her 4-year-old daughter to death says she never harmed the child.
Carlotta Brett-Pierce acknowledged at her trial Monday that the girl "had lost weight," but said she "didn't look bad."
Brett-Pierce and her mother, Loretta Brett, are charged with murder in the death of Marchella (mar-CHELL'-uh) in September of 2010. She weighed half what a child her age should, and had bruises and cuts on her body.
The defendants have pleaded not guilty and say they were doing the best they could.
The outcome of the murder trial may have repercussions for the child welfareworkers once assigned to the family. They were charged with criminally negligent homicide and have also pleaded not guilty.

Mom Feels Her 5 Year Old Daughter Needs More Color.

A New Jersey mom denies that her 5-year-old daughter's sunburn was caused by a trip to atanning salon. Patricia Krentcil told NBC that she brought her child along to the salon, but the girl was never exposed to UV rays in the booth.
"I tan, she doesn't tan," Krentcil said on NBC. "I'm in the booth, she's in the room. That's all there is to it."
The girl's father Rich Krentcil said his daughter was sunburned from playing outside on a hot day.
The young girl's body was burned from the stint in the salon's tanning bed, NBC New York reported.
The Essex County Prosecutor's office charged the mother, 44-year-old Nutley resident Patricia Krentcil, with second-degree child endangerment. If found guilty, Krentcil could wind up behind bars where the sun doesn't shine.
Police arrested her on Tuesday after school officials reported that the kindergarten girl had a severe sunburn.
Krentcil's father got temporary custody of the girl, according to ABC.
State law prohibits anyone younger than 14 from entering the booths.

Wetting The Bed Gets 4-year old Put In The Dryer.

A Wisconsin man was charged with six felonies last week after he allegedly put a 4-year-old girl in the dryer several times for wetting the bed and pinched a 5-year-old boy's penis as punishment, among other horrific abuses.

Nicholas Fuchs, 26, abused the children while he was living with their mom in Oak Creek from January to October last year, Milwaukee police told The Weekly Vice.

The mother went to police after the four year old threatened in February to put her brother in the dryer, mimicking the punishment Fuchs allegedly meted out.

Cops launched an investigation and uncovered some gruesome details:

In July, Fuchs allegedly broke one child's arm in the Oak Creek apartment. Investigators said Fuchs would beat the bottom of their feet with a spoon and submerge their feet in a tub of scalding water.

Fuchs is also accused of pinching the boy's penis as a punishment and choking the girl. His ex-girlfriend's daughter told investigators that Fuchs put her in the dryer several times and turned it on because she wet her pajamas.

"It was very dark and warm inside the dryer and this made [her] scared," according to a criminal complaint obtained by WISN.

Woman Stopped, baby Founded In Her Purse.

U.S. Virgin Islands -- U.S. Virgin Islands police say a woman was allegedly driving with her newborn baby zipped up in her purse.

A police statement says an officer pulled over a woman driving a pickup during a routine traffic stop Tuesday. While asking for the St. Croix woman's license, the officer reported hearing a baby crying but did not see a baby seat in the vehicle.

The motorist then allegedly unzipped a purse sitting on the seat next to her and revealed a tiny newborn.
Police say the woman told them that the baby girl was born at home a week ago and had no prenatal care. She was apparently driving the infant to a doctor.

Authorities rushed the newborn to a hospital. The mother may face criminal charges. Her name and age were not disclosed.
