An App That Lets You Report Bad Police.

Smartphones allow people to check email, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and now keep an eye on the police -- at least in New Jersey.
The New Jersey chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU-NJ) has just released “Police Tape,” an Android phone app that allows people to securely and discreetly record and store their interactions with police, as well as provide legal information about citizens’ rights when interacting with law officers.
"This app provides an essential tool for police accountability,” ACLU-NJ Executive Director Deborah Jacobs said in a statement to Wired.com. “Too often incidents of serious misconduct go unreported because citizens don’t feel that they will be believed. Here, the technology empowers citizens to place a check on police power directly.”
Almost all cell phones come with video cameras, but Police Tape has a "stealth mode" that makes the app disappear from the screen once the recording starts, to minimize the chances the police might squelch the recording.

Dirty clothes have a Pittsburgh-area police officer in hot water.
Rankin police Officer Jason Rocco is charged with trespassing and criminal mischief for allegedly breaking into a neighbor's home to wash his clothes.
Rocco was arraigned Saturday and released on his own recognizance.
Avalon police who questioned Rocco say he told investigators the home's back door was already broken and he "just had to do some laundry."

Mother Takes her Daughter To Shoplift, But Leaves Her When Cops Come.

A mother who allegedly coerced two children into helping her shoplift clothing and accessories from an Old Navy store on Saturday night refused to pick up her 11-year-old daughter from police after the girl was busted, the Detroit News reports.
Police officers told the paper that a 49-year-old mother enlisted three people -- her daughter, a young boy, and a 61-year-old woman -- to help her shoplift clothing and other items from an Old Navy in Troy, Mich.
Security camera footage showed the four entering the store shortly after 8 p.m. and then fanning out to different areas, where they proceeded to stuff items into various bags. Security guards were able to catch the 11-year-old girl and 61-year-old woman, but the girl's mother and the young boy got away, accordindag to the Detroit News.
WXYZ News reports that the 11-year-old was found with $123.95 of stolen merchandise in her purse -- including baby clothes, jewelry, and women's shirts -- and that she told officers that her mother instructed her to grab the items and meet her out by the car.

Man Sews Son's Buttocks Shut

A northeast Illinois man who stood accused of using a needle and thread to sew his son's buttocks shut has accepted a plea agreement and will not spend any time in prison.
Randy Swopes, 52, of Waukegan, entered an Alford plea Friday to aggravated battery. In an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges that prosecutors have enough evidence to possibly win a conviction. Swopes was sentenced to 24 months of probation and 250 hours of community service.
Swopes' son reportedly suffers from Crohn's Disease. According to WebMD, the condition is an inflammatory bowel disease that causes, "inflammation or ulceration of the digestive tract."
In January 2008, the disease caused Swopes' son, then 14, to develop a fistula. One Crohn's information website describes a fistula as, "an abnormal tunnel connecting two body cavities that are not usually connected, such as the rectum and the vagina. A fistula can also be a body cavity to the skin such as the rectum to the outside of the body."
Fistulas are typically treated with medication and sometimes surgery.
In the case of Swopes' son, the fistula was on the boy's buttocks. Rather than take the teen to the doctor for treatment, Swope opted to take care of the problem himself andsewed the fistula shut using a needle and thread, Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Danielle Pascucci told the Lake County News-Sun.
The home surgery did not work as intended and the wound became infected. The boy was hospitalized for about a month while he recovered.

Man Picks The Wrong Place To Rob, A Police Station

Keithan Manuel
Keithan Manuel is learning the hard way that a sense of humor is very subjective, but that's what happens when you attempt to rob a police station.
Manuel walked into a police station in suburban Dallas on Saturday evening with a white towel covering his hands and told the dispatcher to hand over money, CBS News reported.
Although Manuel has claimed that he was just pulling a practical joke, Police Chief Victor Kemp said the suspect didn't seem to be acting like a jokester.
"He said he’d like to check on a warrant, but it was pretty obvious it was a situation. He gave a different name and after a few moments of maybe playing it off he said, 'You do know I have a gun,'" Kemp told KTVT-TV. "At that point he seemed to be very serious. She called for officers immediately. The officers arrived and were able to take him down at gunpoint."
Police took Manuel down and determined he did not have a weapon. Meanwhile, he denies saying he was carry a gun.

Man Stands In front Of Wife Car To Keep Her From Voting Against His Choice

Chippewa Falls, Wis. police said Jeffrey Radle jumped in front of his wife's car to keep her from voting against Gov. Scott Walker in the state's Republican primary, according to the Journal Sentinel.
Radle is a Walker supporter and his wife, Amanda, is not. So when she tried to pull out of the driveway to vote for a non-Walker candidate, Radle stood in her car's way.
The Sentinel reports that, when she tried to drive around him, Radle dove in front of the car, injuring his head, neck and back.
The husband was taken to a hospital where he was in stable condition, as of Tuesday.
Chippewa Falls Police Captain John Liddell told The Huffington Post that the election was just fodder for a familial dispute.
"We've seen things like this before, but not over elections," Liddell told HuffPost. "This is more of a domestic situation within the family and the election just happened to be the topic at the time."
Liddell said the case has been referred to the district attorney, who will decide whether any charges should be filed on possible counts of domestic violence.
Perhaps the injured Radle can take comfort knowing that Walker easily won the primary.

Mom Takes Nude Pictures Of her 13-year-old Daughter For Internet.

Authorities in Utah have arrested a woman for allegedly helping her 13-year-old daughter text nude photos to a 30-year-old man.
The young girl's mother, a 35-year-old woman from Duchesne County, has been charged in district court with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office, the teenager told detectives she has an older boyfriend who lives in Oregon. She said he sent her a cellphone and asked her to send him naked photos of herself, police said.
The girl was unable to figure out how to work the cellphone, so her mother allegedly helped her take three nude photos with the device. The images were then texted to the Oregon boyfriend.
When questioned by police, the girl's mother, who is not being named to protect theidentity of her juvenile child, allegedly admitted helping her daughter with the cellphone. She also allegedly said she was aware the teen had planned to send the photos to the man.
Each of the second-degree felony charges is punishable with a maximum of eight years in jail and a $15,000 fine.
The sheriff's office has notified authorities in Oregon about the case and investigators there have launched an investigation into the teen's boyfriend.

Showing Your Balls, Can Get You Put In Jail, Really.

For the second time in a year, a motorist has been ticketed in South Carolina for displaying a replica of testicles on a vehicle.
A Spartanburg County sheriff's deputy stopped a truck Sunday evening after noticing the "anatomically correct" display on the rear bumper. The incident reportsays the driver removed the display after being stopped but he was arrested for driving without a license. He was also given a warning ticket for having an obscene display.
Last July, a Berkeley County woman was ticketed for having a similar display on the back of her truck.
That case is to go to trial in municipal court in the town of Bonneau. That trial has been delayed three times and no new trial date has been set.

Woman Steals From The Wrong Bus Driver

A bus driver in Columbus, Ohio, may get busted after brawling with a passenger accused of stealing her wallet.
The incident happened last week when the bus driver, whose name has not been released, stopped the bus and got off for a bathroom break during her normal route, according to RightThisMinute.
"She [told] the one woman on the bus, 'I'm going to run to the restroom,'" said RightThisMinute correspondent Gayle Bass. "That's when the bus driver says the woman reached in and grabbed the wallet."
Surveillance video obtained by WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio, shows a woman with ababy stroller, later identified as Kyosha Moore, reaching behind the driver's seat.
Another surveillance video taken at a Kroger grocery store shows the bus driver walking in and confronting Moore. Then, the two get into a physical fight that leaves them rolling on the ground.
"Police said the wallet was found on the suspect," Bass said.
That's the good news for the bus driver. The bad news is that her methods of retrieval are getting her in hot water with officials at the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA).
COTA spokeswoman Beth Berkemer told WBNS-TV that she would not go into detail about what COTA thought happened on the bus, but did say that the driver was under investigation.

"At this point in time, we're investigating all angles to see what happened," Berkemer said. "There is the possibility that our operator behaved in an unprofessional manner towards a customer, and that's not something we will accept, if that's how the situation occurred."
Meanwhile, Moore, who is currently being held in jail on bond, faces charges of felony theft and, according to local police, is also wanted outside of Hamilton County for violation of her parole on a forgery charge.

Man Get Mad And Mail Powder To Courthouse With His Name On It

A Miami Gardens man has been arrested for sending five envelopes containing a powdery substance to two government offices in Broward County.

Tarvess Taylor, 26, allegedly included his name in envelopes mailed to the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the 17th Judicial Circuit courthouse in October. Both buildings had to be closed so a Haz-Mat team could investigate the powder.

In an indictment, prosecutors said Taylor wrote strange messages in the envelopes, including “Police is to kill Black [...]. Not give them lawsuit” and “You Polices his fools you Don’t kill that.”

He also wrote his own name: “I smell death And guess What it’s Tarvess Taylor and his family and friends.”

His anger toward authorities may have come to a boil after being shot by police in 2008, reports Broward-Palm Beach New Times. Taylor was reportedly attempting to cash a forged check at a bank drive-thru in Pembroke Pines when confronted by police; he allegedly attempted to run over an officer, who shot at the vehicle, striking Taylor in both arms.

Taylor was indicted last week and arrested by U.S. Marshals on April 17.

He faces five counts of a hoax threat and could see 5 years in prison, $250,000 in fines, and three years of supervision once released, according to the indictment.

Drinking Gas Leads Man To Post Picture On Facebook

JENKINS, Ky. -- There it was on Facebook for all to see – Michael Baker with a gas can, a siphon hose stuck into a police cruiser in eastern Kentucky and a middle finger raised.

Among those who saw it were Jenkins police, who arrested 20-year-old Baker on Monday and charged him with theft by unlawful taking.

Police didn't laugh. Chief Allen Bormes says that if Baker would steal from police, he'd steal from "just about anybody."

Authorities say they plan to buy lockable gas caps.

McDonald's Employee Adds His On Favor To Customer's Iced Tea.

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. — A South Carolina county's deputies say a McDonald's employee spit in two customers' cups of iced tea after the drinks were returned because they weren't sweet enough.

Authorities say 19-year-old Marvin Washington Jr. was arrested Wednesday and charged with malicious tampering with food.

Greenville County investigators say surveillance video caught Washington leaning over the cups before he filled them Saturday at the Simpsonville restaurant. Authorities say the customers discovered phlegm when they removed the lids of the drinks to add more sugar because the iced tea still was not sweet enough.

The owner of the McDonald's says he follows stringent food safety procedures and asked people not to reach conclusions until all the facts come out.

It wasn't immediately clear Wednesday if Washington had a lawyer.

Woman Name Fellony Catches A Felony For Bar Fight.

Sadly, this child really did live up to her mother's expectations.

A suspect named Fellony was arrested and charged with felony battery on Sunday after a wild bar attack left a woman with cuts and bruises.

Fellony Silas, 30, allegedly smashed a glass on a woman's forehead inside an Indiana bar, the Smoking Gun reported.

The 24-year-old victim told cops that she had bumped into Silas while the two were dancing, the Indiana Daily Student reported. The two started arguing, and that's when the alleged felonious attack began.
The whole thing wreaked of Fellony, cops said.

Silas was collared and taken to jail, while the bloodied victim went to the hospital.

Unfortunately for Silas, she'll always have a Fellony on her record -- whether or not she's convicted of a crime

Woman Does Take "No" For An Answer.

It was an extreme case of sexual frustration.

Inez Nunez, 18, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly punching her boyfriend in the face because he wouldn't have sex with her, NBC Miami reported.

On Tuesday, cops were called to her home in Coral Springs, Fla., for a domestic disturbance between Nunez and her live-in boyfriend. The man said that the two had been arguing, and Nunez socked him because he called her ugly and wouldn't sleep with her, according to WPTV.

The victim's father said he heard the tussle, which allegedly continued as Nunez slapped him while he was on the ground.

Nunez reportedly argued that her boyfriend had also slapped and choked her. Cops deemed her story to be inconsistent, saying in a report that the story changed several times.

Nunez was arrested and jailed on a $2,500 bond.

Cop Gets Caught With More Than His Gun In His Hand.

There's an old saying: "Beware the long arm of the law."

To that, we add, "especially when its hand is touching itself in the squad car."

That's because a former police sergeant in Santa Fe, N.M., is in a touchy situation after the release of video caught on his own dash cam that suggests he had a graphic sexual conversation with himself and masturbated while on duty.

The video, which was obtained by KOB-TV, just shows the vehicle of former Sgt. Mike Eiskant, but the audio is much steamier.

Eiskant was alone in the vehicle during his audio-erotic encounter and the sound of a zipper is clearly audible. It also appears he is masturbating while looking at a picture of a naked woman on his cell phone and texting.
The video lasts at least 10 minutes and at one especially heated point, he says, "Oh, show me those big beautiful breasts, baby.”

Although only one such video was found in 10 hours of tape obtained by the station, at least one former officer isn't surprised by the alleged masturbation.

Former officer Shannon Brady told KOB-TV in a follow-up report that Eiskant had a reputation for being a "creeper" and stalking women.

Brady said she even tried to bring a harassment complaint against Eiskant years ago to the Santa Fe police department's human resource division that was handled by then human resource compliance officer Raymond Rael, who has since been promoted to chief of police.

Bleach Can Clean A Lot But Not When You Cheat On Your Woman.

Hell truly hath no fury like a woman scorned. That's the only available explanation for why one woman poured bleach in a man's lap while he was driving.

Shenay J. Jackson, 19, of Gainesville, Fla., is accused of doing just that this past week to her former boyfriend, according to Newser.

Jackson pushed her ex in the face as he was driving, according to the arrest report filed by Gainesville Police Officer Kimano Edwards. Then she opened a bottle of beach and poured it on his lap.

"(Jackson's) actions caused the victim's clothes to be soaked with bleach which produced a burning sensation to the victim's groin," Edwards wrote in the report, according to the Gainesville Sun.

As a result, the man, who has not been identified, had to pull over and remove his clothes due to the burning caused by the bleach.

Edwards wrote that the man's clothes were "freshly soaked with bleach causing severe discoloration" while there were "puddles of bleach" inside his vehicle.

Meanwhile, Jackson claimed she got into an argument with her ex and merely picked up the bottle of bleach and shook it, which caused the bleach to get on her ex, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Jackson was charged with simple battery, a first-degree misdemeanor, and, as of Thursday, was being held at the Alachua County jail, according to the Miami Herald.
