God Has A Wife! Teacher Claims To Be Married To God..

After launching into a bizarre rant in which she claimed to be married to God, pregnant with his child, and predicted the pending apocalypse, a teacher at Veterans Memorial Academy in San Benito, Texas, has been removed, the Houston Pressreports.
According to the paper's blog, the teacher claimed God's army would destroy the world on December 21, 2012, but that Jesus had another planet ready for them where everyone "was always 25 years old," and money doesn't exist.

“I am married to God, and I don’t know what’s going to happen to my husband that’s here (on earth),” she said, according to the San Benito News. “One of my eyes is mine and the other one belongs to God, so God is watching what you all are doing.”
At the end of the video -- most of which is in Spanish -- a school official can be seen entering the classroom and leading the teacher into the hall.
While San Benito Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent Antonio G. Limón would not reveal the identity of the teacher to the San Benito News, the district did provide a formal statement about the incident:
“An incident involving a San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy teacher remains under review by campus and district officials. Students in the classroom alerted other school personnel who responded by escorting the teacher out of the classroom during the recent incident. San Benito CISD wants to assure the parents that a replacement teacher has been assigned to fulfill the classroom duties of the teacher in question and will remain there for the remainder of the school year. The issue in question is considered a personnel matter, therefore, the district is not at liberty to disclose any additional information or divulge specific details about the district’s specific course of action.”

Black Youth Denied Chance To Walk Across Stage Because Of Autism

Sinclaire Coffer, a 17-year-old high school student with autism, is fighting to be allowed to graduate from North Springs Charter High School in Sandy Springs, Ga.,after the state Board of Education ruled against it, WSB-TV reports.
While Coffer has passed every other portion of the state's graduation exam, he has failed the math portion five times.
"We’ve gotten a private tutor," his mother Linda Coffer told WSB-TV. "He’s taken classes that are offered by the school in summer and throughout the school year.”

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Coffer applied for a waiver which would have allowed him to graduate despite failing the exam. The state Board of Education, however, voted to deny his request.
Still, the student's family maintains that he is unable to pass the math portion of the exam due to his diagnosis, rather than a lack of hard work.
"Once he starts it, and he learns it, he can do it. But when you walk away, he forgets the steps," Coffer's mother told Fox 5 Atlanta.
Newscore reports that Georgia recently changed a law to require all students pass the math exam in order to graduate. However, those changes will not go into effect until next year. Meanwhile, Coffer's family has not been given a reason for the board's decision.

Teacher Pick Student Up By Her Hair Off Gym Floor.

Hedrick Middle School
Patrick Robinson, a 26-year-old teacher at Hedrick Middle School in Lewisille, Texas, is the subject of a local police investigation after three students reported the physicaleducation teacher lifted them off the floor by their hair, WFAA-TV reports.
Parents of the students who were allegedly abused filed a compliant, and Robinson was placed on paid leave pending the results of the investigation.
Police Capt. Kevin Deaver told NBC Dallas-Forth Worth that, while Robinson has not been arrested, he could face three felony counts of injury to a child if the investigation yields sufficient evidence.
The Lewisville Independent School District confirmed that Robinson, who has worked at the school for two years, has since resigned for the rest of the current school year, according to the station.
This isn't the first school gym-related incident to cause controversy.

Children Of Color Benefits From More Playtime Then Study Time At School

While the benefits of physical activity among children has given rise to little, if any, debate, the benefits of midday playtime has. On one end of the spectrum some say that recess poses safety hazards and cuts into much needed instructional time; on the other end of the spectrum, proponents say recess may actually help children perform better in the classroom.
A new study from the latter camp shows that time away from the classroom might be especially beneficial for Black and Latino students.
According to researchers from Mathematica Policy Research and the John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities at Stanford University, teachers reported less bullying, better recess behavior and more readiness for classes among students who engaged in recess.
To evaluate the benefits of break time, the study focused in on a program called Playworks, a nonprofit which uses recess to address social and emotionaldevelopment issues large Black and Latino student populations. Researchers collected onsite observations and feedback from 1,982 fourth and fifth grade students, 247 teachers, and 25 principals, as well as the 14 Playworks coaches who participated in the study.

Teacher Has Sex With Student In Her Classroom Supply Closet.

Kacy Christine Wilson, a 28-year-old former teacher at Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Fla., is being accused of pulling a 16-year-old student out of class and thenleading him to a closet to have sex, WOFL-TV reports.
According to a police report obtained by WOFL, Wilson called the unnamed teenager's teacher to claim he had left something in her classroom. The incident allegedly occurred when he arrived at her room.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that detectives began investigating a possible relationship between Wilson and one of her students in October. At the time, she refuted the accusations, resigned from her position and then moved to Colorado.
But last month, the victim admitted to the relationship, leading to Wilson's arrest in Colorado, after which she was extradited back to Osceola Counting and is now held on $85,000 bond.
Back in April, 29-year-old Jeffrey R. Sears Jr. allegedly had sex with 15 and 16-year-old students in the classroom, in his car and at his home. He was also accused of having a "sexual encounter" with a student in a school stairwell.
The Baltimore Sun reported that the encounters -- for which prosecutors pursued a 10-year-sentence -- occurred over a two-year period.

Principal Get Caught Making Out With His Assistant

The Scholars Academy Principal Steve McClenning and assistant Billie Madewell have both lost their jobs after the two were caught passionately making out on video,KTVK-TV reports.
According to the station, the video was taken on the cellphone of 16-year-old Myranda Garber at the Quartzsite, Ariz. school. A school board member also confirmed to KTVK that the principal resigned from his position, while the secretary was fired.
Local residents say thatMcClenning and Madewell are married to other people, but parents are mostly upset because the make-out and groping session took place on school grounds, during school hours, KNXV-TV reports.
The incident comes at a bad time for the school, which is not getting its charter status renewed. While the academy is appealing the decision to the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools, many fear the town will not have a school next year, and many of the students feel betrayed.
“It’s just a smack in the face as far as I’m concerned,” student Joseph Hager told KNXV-TV.
This isn't the first time hidden cellphone video has gotten an educator in trouble. In February, New York City math teacher David Pecoraro was "reassigned to an administrative office" after cellphone video revealed him swatting at and spitting on a student.
According to Beach Channel High School junior Otina Rosario, the incident depicted in the video wasn't the first time Pecoraro acted inappropriately towards students.
"He’s always getting in kids’ faces and spitting all over them," Rosario told the New York Daily News. “It’s disgusting.”

Teacher Tells Girl That Your Sexier Than Me.

Marco Inskip, a 40-year-old substitute teacher at Charles L. Spragg Elementary School in Egg Harbor City, N.J., has been accused of telling a 7-year-old girl she was dressed "too sexy for gym today," CBS New York reports.

Henry Wilson, the girl's father, told the station he filed a police complaint against the teacher, who has been suspended from the school district.

"You just don’t talk like that to children,” parent Debbie Maser told WGHP-TV. “You don’t use those kind of words in reference to them.”

The Press of Atlantic City reports the 7-year-old told a teacher that Inskip said a "bad word to her," but didn't want to use the word "sexy."

Wilson said he appreciates the school's action, but wants it to go further.

“The guidance counselor talked to her, and I’m happy with how the school responded," Wilson told the paper. “I just don’t want him to be able to go to another district and do the same thing."

According to the Cherry Hill Courier Post, the Egg Harbor City school board plans to visit the case against Inskip in May.

Student hacks School Computer To Hide Bad Grades from parents

An unnamed student at Pelham High School in Pelham, N.H., may have taken the 80's film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" a little too seriously, as he allegedly hacked into the school's computer to change his grades, WDHD-TV reports.

According to the station, officials at the school declined to elaborate on how the student gained access, saying only that the student had been disciplined.

One parent even said the incident might have been for the best.

"I was a little shocked, but it is a little bit amazing that we have kids with that kind of computer aptitude that would be able to crack into the system," Debbie Croatti told WDHD-TV. "I’m glad that they found out and that they’re going to remedy the situation and make it better."

Eli Morse, president and CEO of Salem-based Morse Technologies, told the Eagle Tribune that this type of thing happens all the time.

"Yes, I've seen this before, not only with schools but among all sorts of industries," Morse told the paper. "Anything is hackable."

My FOX Boston reports school officials are working to update their firewall systems in an effort to prevent future hacking attempts from being successful.

Although local authorities were notified, WDHD reports they are currently not involved.

Teacher Tell Students, Show Me Yours And I Will Give You An" A".

Timothy Moll, a 25-year-old teacher at Dieruff High School in Allentown, Colo., is accused of offering good grades in exchange for a student's nude photos, WFMZ-TV reports.

Authorities told the station that Moll sent text messages to the 16-year-old student, asking for naked photos, promising extra points to her class grade if she complied.

Court documents obtained by the Express-Times reveal he also asked the student to text him about sex and sexual postions, allotting extra grade points if he was "turned on."

An investigation began in January after the unnamed student was punished for using a cell phone in class. The paper reports that school officials were then alerted to the possibly sexual messages between the student and teacher, leading authorities to track down both of their numbers.

NBC Philadelphia reports that Moll has been put on administrative leave after being charged Wednesday with corruption of a minor and unlawful contact with a minor. He has since been released on $20,000 bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 13.

Racism Shows Up In Elementary School Class Photo.

A second grader at Sawgrass Elementary School in Sunrise, Fla., who didn't have the parental consent form to be his class photo was nevertheless included, but in a way that has shocked school officials and the boy's parents, WPLG TV reports.

Per the elementary school's request, The Huffington Post blurred the faces of the other students in the photo, but the second grade boy can still be seen with a crude, brown-colored, smiley face placed over his face.

"It was totally inappropriate," Broward School District spokeswoman Marsy Smith told WPLG.

Smith also said Sherry Rose, the school's principal, was shocked when she first saw the photo.

"She was very, very upset and immediately took action to reschedule a picture-taking session for Thursday."

Family Bears All In Order To See Mother's Son.

Authorities say four family members were arrested after stripping naked outside a suburban Philadelphia high school and chanting "God is great."

Upper Darby police say it happened around 1 p.m. Friday in a parking lot outside school.
Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says investigators don't know why 44-year-old Sarah Butler and three of her children – 23-year-old Joanne Butler, 22-year-old Bessie Butler and a 14-year-old son – decided to disrobe.

He says the mother had gone there around 10 a.m., demanding to see a student. After she was denied admission, Chitwood says the family lay on the ground and began chanting, eventually shedding their clothing.
Chitwood says the adults will be charged with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and open lewdness. A telephone listing for them could not be found.

Two White Students Speak The Truth Of What Others Whites Really Think.

Last week, eight police officers were brought to the campus in light of death threats the girls were receiving in response to their videos. The videos included comments like, "You can understand what we are saying, our accents, we use actual words. Black people do not."

Gainesville High School principal David Shelnutt did not go into detail on the extent of the disciplinary action taken against the girls, but did tell WCJB that their comments were not welcome at the school.

"There's no place for comments like that, that video here at GHS," Shelnutt told the station. "There's no place for that in the Alachua County Public School System, and my opinion, no place for that in society in general."

Boy Stabbed Over His Race

When one student stabbed 12-year-old Ryan Rodriguez in the back with a pencil and walked away, Ryan didn't have to ask for a reason why. He already knew: his race, the Connecticut Post reports. The boy's mother, Gail Rodriguez, told the paper that her son, who is half white and half Puerto Rican, was often bullied for not being "black enough," and that other students teased him, calling him things like "stupid white cracker."

The bullying at the Engineering and Science University Magnet School in New Haven, Conn., was more than physical assault. The Post reports that students would also steal Ryan's belongings and break his binders.

When his mother complained, however, teachers allegedly said they would have to catch the students in the act in order to take punitive action.

White Principle speaks what others feel on Black student testing.

A Tennessee high school principal has issued a letter of apology to parents and students for saying the school's black students are "less smart," as evidenced by a state report card issued this month, WREG reports.

"I unintentionally offended a number of students on this campus," Germantown High School Principal Ted Horrell wrote in the letter. "I apologize to all the students and parents who were offended."

During a school presentation last week, Horrell reportedly laid out the results of the Germantown High's Tennessee state report card, which breaks down standardized test scores by race and income. The assembly aimed to discuss how the school can close the achievement gap and introduce a new program that would offer assistance to struggling students, WMC-TV.

But a number of parents and students were offended by the presentation, arguing that it only created a greater divide among students as some students found it reason to start mocking black students for "being dumb," according to WMC-TV.

"[My daughter] felt he presented this information to basically reflect the African American students were all the reason the scores were down," Germantown High parent Deborah Cannon told WREG.

Germantown's report card reflect a national trend. Results released last fall showed that consistently large gaps in the performance of white, black and Hispanic students remained on the 2011 national math and reading exams. On the National Assessment of Educational Progress, administered every two years, 9 percent of white students performed at or above the highest level in 4th grade math, compared with only 2 percent of Hispanic students and 1 percent of black students.

Schools in areas like Chicago still struggle to gain ground in math and reading proficiency to close the performance divide between black and white, Latino and Asian students.

Horrell said that while at the Germantown High assembly, he did note certain groups of students are performing better than others, he "certainly didn't say that white students are smarter than black students," WHBQ reports.

One student publicly came to Horrell's defense, writing in an email to WREG that "information is valuable," and that the principal merely sought to share data with those being evaluated.

"As a student there, I do want to know how we are performing when it comes to standardized tests," the student wrote. "I think (based upon the reactions in the audience at the meeting) that once people were made aware of the data, they made judgments and did not fully listen to Dr. Horrell. The changes Dr. Horrell is making to GHS is to better the student.
