Black Woman Ran Over After Altercation With Another Driver

This is the young woman who died on a roadway after an apparent altercation with another driver.

Shelinda Dolores Arrington, 21, of Fairfax, Virginia, was found lying dead on a road on Friday in nearby Hybla Valley.

Police believe the woman had stopped her Buick LeSabre around 11.30am along Harrison Lane and got into an argument with a driver of a black Chevrolet SUV.

Authorities say that they believe she was run over.

But they do not have firm idea of exactly how the woman died or what had happened leading up to Ms Arrington’s death.

‘We don’t know if the two knew each other, we don’t know what they were exchanging words or got into an altercation about,’ Mary Ann Jennings of Fairfax County police told WTOP.

‘We don’t know that it’s road rage, but we’re certainly not ruling it out.’

The black SUV shot off, fleeing the scene and investigators are now searching for the car, described as having temporary tags.

Another SUV pulled up at the scene to help Ms Arrington and police have interviewed its driver but that is all they have to go on so far.

She sustained traumatic injuries to her upper body and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The cause of death was determined to be a ‘crash injury.’

The Law To Save Black Men From A Life Of Incarceration.

Our nation has a long history relating to racial and more recently religious profiling by law enforcement, which needs be legally halted once and for all through the passage of the End Racial Profiling Act (ERPA).

From driving while Black to traveling while Latino near border states to flying while Muslim or Sikh, racial and religious profiling continues to cause countless of indignities, which have led to detainment without predication and even acts of violence against law-abiding persons. In 2009, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Rights Working Group sent a report to the U.N. Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination stating: "Both Democratic and Republican administrations [in the United States] have acknowledged that racial profiling is unconstitutional, socially corrupting and counter-productive, yet this unjustifiable practice remains a stain on American democracy and an affront to the promise of racial equality." But besides racial and religious profiling being humiliating to those who suffer it, it simply is not effective in deterring crime and contradicts empirical crime data.

As Ohio State Professor Michelle Alexander highlights in her book, "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness," White Americans use and sell drugs in close proportion to their percentage in society, yet Black and Latino males are the primary persons apprehended by law enforcement on suspicion of drug related activity. There is no racial profile to who does or does not consume and sell illicit substances in our nation, which is why such profiling is ineffective.

According to the FBI's statistics going back to 1980, 94 percent of domestic terrorism is committed by persons who are of various faiths outside of the religion of Islam, yet ACLUFreedom of Information Act (FOIA) litigation revealed in September 2011 that the FBI considered Metro Detroit a hotbed for potential terrorists because of our "large Middle-Eastern and Muslim population."

In a veiled response last month to a CAIR lawsuit against the FBI, Customs Border Protection and Transportation Security Administration for asking invasive religious questions to Americans such as "Do you pray?" and "What mosque do you pray at?" FBI Assistant Special Agent Todd Mayberry dismissed citizens' concerns by rhetorically asking, "What really are the offensive questions here?" Ironically, University of North Carolina Professor Charles Kuzman released a report on terrorism and homeland security in February 2011 using government data, which states that American Muslims cause "a minuscule threat to public safety." More ironic is that the more religious or prayerful American Muslims are, the more likely they are to be adverse to violent extremism.

ERPA will not only make it illegal for all law enforcement officers to use race and religion as means to profile persons and entire communities of color but will also provide means to train officers to better police based upon behaviors, not race and religion.

We as Americans, once and for all, should loudly proclaim through federal law that racial and religious profiling is illegal and immoral. When we change the culture of profiling among our nation's finest, perhaps it will lead to a general cultural shift in which we will see the end to the type of profiling that led to the death of Trayvon Martin at the hands of a private citizen.

King Still On Top Of Boxing World. Next Battle Is Prison.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. finally found himself in a real fight, completewith a bloody nose and an opponent in Miguel Cotto who was never going to quit.

As usual, he found a way to win.

Mayweather used his speed and accuracy Saturday night to take a unanimous decision over a game Cotto in a bruising bout to win a piece of the 154-pound title. But it wasn't easy, as Cotto landed some hard punches and kept attacking all the way to the final bell.

"You're a hell of a champion," Mayweather told Cotto in the ring afterward. "You're the toughest guy I ever fought."

Mayweather dominated late, rocking Cotto in the 12th round to pull out a win and remain unbeaten in 43 fights. Unlike most of his fights, though, Mayweather got his nose bloodied and engaged in some bruising exchanges he usually likes to avoid.

Two judges scored the fight 117-111 and the third had it 118-110. The Associated Press had Mayweather winning 116-112.

Fighting just a few weeks before he enters a county jail to serve a three-month sentence for domestic abuse, Mayweather found himself in a tough fight against a game opponent who never stopped moving forward. But he was faster and more accurate than Cotto and seemed to wear him down in the final rounds.

In the last round, Mayweather landed his best punch of the night, a left uppercut that seemed to hurt Cotto. He followed that with several flurries to the head to wrap up a decision that until the later rounds had been in doubt.

More Than Donuts Went With This Order, Let Us Have The Money Too.

Like a lot of people at Dunkin' Donuts, they were in a rush.

Two men rushed into a Dunkin' Donuts location in Boynton Beach, Fla., with guns in hand and black t-shirts covering their faces. One of the armed robbers, identified by police as 20-year-old Actrice Alerte, ran to the drive-thru window while the other, identified as 18-year-old Abdias Jean-Baptiste, hopped onto the counter and held cashiers at gunpoint just after 9 a.m. Thursday, WSVN-TV reported.

A 63-year-old customer tried to subdue Jean-Baptiste by grabbing him from behind, but the gunman tossed the man to the ground. To make sure the good samaritan stayed down, Jean-Baptiste stomped on his head, according to surveillance footage released by Boynton Beach Police and available below, courtesy of NBC6 Miami.

Once the crooks grabbed about $2,000 in cash, Jean-Baptiste kicked the older man a second time on their way out to their getaway car, a black Nissan Altima. Jean-Baptiste and Alerte paired up with two accomplices, who have been identified as 21-year-old Franke Pierre-Louis and 20-year-old Ashley Silmone.

Chili's Server Stole Credit Card Number With Scanner In Apron.

A Chili's server has been arrested for stealing credit card information from patrons dining on baby back ribs.

After complaints from customers about false charges on their credit cards in the last three months, loss prevention at a Coral Springs Chili's traced the activity to one of their waitresses, Germithe Geffrard, 23, of Pompano Beach.

When Coral Springs police arrived to investigate, officers found an illegal credit card scanner in Geffrard's work apron.

After charging customers' cards for their bill, Geffrard would scan the card through her scanner to store the information, according to a police release. Geffrard scanned at least three or more credits every day.

Police arrested Geffrard and charged her with possession of a scanning device.

Woman Finds New Way To Get High, Cocaine In Tampons.

Cindy Davidson is good at sniffing out bargains, so when the Salt Lake City momsaw tampons on sale last Saturday, she didn't exactly turn up her nose at a good deal.

However, inside the box, along with the tampons and the applicator was something extra: Cocaine.

"It didn't look like it was tampered at all," she told KTVX-TV. "There was cellophanefilled with white powder."

The powdery substance was rolled up in thick cellophane and taped shut inside the cardboard applicator.

"It was wrapped so tight she spent five minutes trying to open it and still couldn't,"Davidson, 39, told KSL-TV.

The box of Boots tampons -- a British brand -- was supposed to contain 16 tampons. She noticed, however, some inconsistencies in they way they were packed. When she found the suspicious little package inside, her heart began to race -- and it certainly wasn't the euphoria coke users experience.

"I started getting nervous because I thought it might have been a terrorist attack," she told KSL-TV. "I called my sister first and said I was going to call the manufacturer the next day and she told me to call the police."

Now We Are Born Racist, WTF.

Adults have more difficulty recognizing faces that belong to people of another race, and this deficit appears to start early.

New research indicates that by the time they are 9 months old, babies are better ableto recognize faces and emotional expressions of people who belong to the group they interact with most, than they are those of people who belong to another race.

Babies don't start out this way; younger infants appear equally able to tell people apart, regardless of race.

"These results suggest that biases in face recognition and perception begin in preverbal infants, well before concepts about race are formed. It is important for us to understand the nature of these biases in order to reduce or eliminate [the biases]," said study researcher Lisa Scott, a psychologist at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in a statement. In the study, 48 Caucasian infants were given the task of differentiating between faces of their own race and faces that belonged to another, unfamiliar, race. In another experiment, sensors placed on the babies' heads detected brain activity when the babies saw images of faces of Caucasian or African-American races expressing emotions that either matched or did not match sounds they heard, such as laughing and crying.

While 5-month-olds were equally able to distinguish faces from different races, 9-month-olds fared better with their own race. Likewise, brain-activity measurements showed the 9-month-olds processed emotional expressions among Caucasian faces differently than those of African-American faces, while the 5-month-olds did not.

Sportswriter Gives New Name To Team Owned By Jay-Z, " New York Niggas:.

A New York sportswriter is in hot water after writing that the Brooklyn Nets should change their name to the "New York N------s" because they are co-owned by Jay-Z.

Phil Mushnick, who writes for the New York Post, has apparently been a long-time critic of the rapper's role in the franchise. In a Friday column, he trashed Jay-Z'schoices for the team's new uniforms:

As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots -- what a shock that he chose black and white as the new team colors to stress, as the Nets explained, their new "urban" home -- why not have him apply the full Jay-Z treatment?
Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N------s? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B----hes or Hoes. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!

You Don't Always Need A Big Dog To Chase Off Dumbs

Here are two dumb thieves who remind me of Rocky and Mugsy from the old Bugs Bunny cartoons. One guy is the brains, the other guy is the muscle, but both are totally out classed by a cartoonish little animal. 

As soon as thieves walked through the door their whole plan (which was probably thought up on the way to the liquor store) completely fell apart. The big dumb guy holding the gun saw the barking little dog coming at him and he turned to run away. He probably would have run all the way home if he hadn't been repeatedly pushed back in the store by his partner, but maybe he just wanted to run back to the car and try another liquor store with less security.  

Between trying to keep the big dumb guy from fleeing and fighting off a little dog I doubt the robbery yielded a big payday. Even if everything had gone smoothly, robbing a liquor store is incredibly dumb because the most they could get out of it was maybe a hundred bucks.They'd actually be better off stealing all the good liquor behind the counter. At least whatever they couldn't sell they could just drink themselves. And that'd be good for them because it's going to take a lot of liquor to lessen the humiliating sting of running away from a chihuahua.

Father Kills Son Then Tries To Take Own Life

When Houston police responded to 57-year-old Joseph Mouton's suicidal phone call, a search of the apartment turned up results that were far from routine.

Around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, the body of 6-month-old Joseph Elijah Mouton was found wrapped in a blanket and placed in his father's refrigerator, the Houston Chronicle reported.

A cause of death has not yet been determined and an autopsy is currently underway, but police told the paper that, as the paramedics began working on him, the father yelled he had killed his baby. Other reports claim the father said the baby stopped breathing on his own and was only placed in the refrigerator after his death.

Paramedics responding to the call had to force their way into the apartment with the help of the building's maintenance staff. Once inside, they found Joseph Mouton with what appeared to be several self-inflicted wounds. According to NBC affiliate KPRC, Mouton was high when he killed his son and sources told the station that he then tried to kill himself by overdosing on pills.

He has previously had trouble with the law and served time for attempted murder charges in 1988, drug charges in 2004, and domestic abuse of the baby's mother this fall around the time of Joseph Elijah's birth.

The discovery was not only a shock to police, but also to neighbors, who claimed they always saw a loving father and son around the apartment complex.

Georgia Bar Owner Calls President Obama A Nigger Again

Georgia bar owner Patrick Lanzo of Paulding County has made habit of claiming he's not racist, an argument that becomes harder to make each time he decides to display the n-word on a large roadside sign outside his establishment, the Georgia Peach Oyster Bar.

Lanzo's latest message reads, "I do not support the n***** in the White House." He recently told a local reporter that the offensive wording was not meant to be racist.

"I say just because you're offended by it doesn't mean you don't have the right to say something just the opposite,” Lanzo said, according to a report from Atlanta's Fox 5. “I don't feel bad about anything whatsoever. Therefore, they can go out and put their own sign in their own yard and I will not be offended.”

Controversy is nothing new to Lanzo, who seems to bask in the negative attention each time he posts a new inflammatory message.

In 2009, Lanzo drew outrage with a sign that read, "Obama's plan for health-care: n***** rig it." Again Lanzo maintained it was just a simple health care protest and not racist, a strange claim considering he advertises his establishment as a "Klan Bar" and has a rich history of catering to some of the nation's most notorious racist groups.

Asked why he had chosen those words to express his feelings on the matter, Lanzoreplied, "Well, I've used it most of my life. There are different ways to putyour opinion up, but that's just the words I choose."

Now White Doctors Are Caring Less For Their Black Patients

The average time most doctors spend with their patients during each visit is just 20 minutes, according to 2009 estimates by the National Center for Health Statistics. And a survey last year by health care consultant group Press Ganey determined that before patients even get in to see a doctor, they've waited an average of 23 minutes.

But while health care professionals have offered advice on how to minimize waits andhow to make the most of your one-on-one time with a doctor, few have ever addressed a hurdle that many black patients may face -- racial bias.

In a study published in a March issue of the American Journal of Public Health, researchers found that two-thirds of doctors harbored "unconscious" racial biases toward patients. When those biases were present, researchers found that doctors tended to dominate conversations with African-American patients, pay less attention to their personal and psychosocial needs and make patients feel less involved in making decisions about their health.

"It's been really extensively shown that minorities don't receive the same quality of health care as whites in the United States," said Lisa A. Cooper, M.D., M.P.H., a professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and lead author of the study. "I've been interested in the extent to which that is accounted for by the fact that a lot of minorities see physicians who are different from them culturally and racially, and that there might be some problems with cultural misunderstandings or miscommunication.
