An NYPD officer is in stable condition after chasing a suspect
through the train station in Harlem today.
Gunfire erupted in the busy Harlem intersection on 145th Street
and St. Nicholas Avenue between NYPD officers and a wanted suspect, who was shot
and killed.
The detective was shot in the train station at 145th Street and
St. Nicholas Avenue on the A, B, C and D lines.
According to hospital officials at Columbia Presbyterian the
officer’s condition is being described as stable after a gunshot wound to the
left arm.
The detective chased down and shot Michael McBride, 52, a
wanted Queens, NY man.
As reported by NBC New York:
Law enforcement sources identified the suspect as Michael McBride, 52, who was wanted in connection with the shooting of a 21-year-old woman Monday in the Rockaways.
The detective, with the violent felony squad, was trying to apprehend McBride on Tuesday in the train station when he was shot.
